The compact and versatile design of the GrindSmart® 628XS Universal Tool Grinding machine allows you to interchange between grinding round-shank tools and replaceable inserts.

The insert grinding option covers:

• Replaceable carbide inserts for ballnose endmills and similar cutters with replaceable 2-flute inserts (ballnose, corner radius, countersink or form inserts).
• Replaceable tip drilling systems with cylindrical/helical margins.
• Milling, grooving, and threading inserts, as well as other indexable tools

The GrindSmart® 628XS can also changeover between the automatic loading system for round-shank tools and replaceable inserts. The autoload system provides unattended operation, which can be switched between gripping and cassette-loading of round tools and inserts.

It also includes:

1. Custom-made hydraulic or pneumatic clamping with tool support system (similar to the Rollomatic steady rest)
2. Custom-made insert cassettes.
