The GrindSmart 628XS is a fully-interpolating 6-axis machine, capable of producing any geometry needed. Radius inserts can be ground with 2 effective teeth and spiral gash, providing a constant rake angle all along the edge.

Back-ball inserts, where the cutting edge extends further around the sphere of the ball, can also be produced, along with OD relief with helix and back taper. The 628XS can also grind replaceable drill tips and milling inserts with speed and accuracy.

We customize our holding and auto-handling systems for every individual application, specific to the manufacturer's design.

The 628XS is the right choice for edge preparation for drilling and other inserts, where a honed edge is required. It uses a proprietary gap control technology to establish the cutting edge.
