When you think of micro tools, you think of Rollomatic. Our machines have a strong reputation for incredible precision on extremely small tool diameters. With our Rollomatic V-block and steady rest for support, and sharp, precise movements in grinding, you can achieve extraordinary products.

For optimal micro tool production, our GrindSmart series 628XS and Nano6 are the perfect solution for micro endmills, drills, routers, reamers, and taps. In addition to our V-block and steady rest system on the 628XS, we have also developed a brand-new workholding system for the Nano6, making an even higher concentricity possible with this new shank guidance system. An additional precision steady rest is also indispensable, giving extra support to the blank.

The Nano6 also features a direct-drive spindle and PerfectArbor, which both provide better surface finish and consistency in the tool geometry. 
Nano-interpolation, 50 nano-meter glass scales, hydrostatics, accurate probing and workholding make the GrindSmart series of machines the ideal choice for micro tools.

Our machine systems are suitable for both standard micro tools as well as specialty micro tools. An automatic tailstock for small tools caters to micro taps and small reamers in carbide and HSS.

In order to maintain accurate tool geometry on small tools, a superior approach to dressing is necessary. Rollomatic has two wheel dressing machines, both suitable for micro tool production. The FRP200 is a simple manual dresser for linear dressing. The ProfileSmart is a 6-axis CNC dressing machine for dressing angles and radiuses in fully automatic mode.

Great micro tools begin with exact blank preparation. The demand for blank concentricity makes pinch grinding necessary to achieve the run-out needed. Rollomatic has two different grinding machines to perform the pinch/peel method and achieve superior concentricity. The ShapeSmart NP5 is an automatic pinch/peel grinding machine ideal for blank preparation of micro tools, as well as larger diameter cutting tools (up to 5/8”). The RPG plunge grinding machine is also ideal for high volume blank preparation of micro tools.
