The ProfileSmart is designed for the automatic dressing of CBN or Diamond grinding wheels with diameter 40 to 500 mm (1.1/2" to 20") and is part of the Rollomatic unattended tool production concept.

The grinding wheel shapes are pre-selected with the Rollomatic VirtualGrind®Pro software and the wheel parameters are transferred via LAN network to the ProfileSmart. The 6-axis CNC enables the profiling of grinding wheels with complex geometries composed of angles and radiuses. You can dress radiuses with either a contour type dressing method, or by rotating the B axis with synchronized oscillation.

The dressing cycle is controlled by the wheel wear-monitoring system. Once the pre-programmed wheel profile is completed, the machine will stop. The dressing wheel wear is automatically compensated to maintain a constant peripheral speed.

Both spindles are equipped with the zero-runout PerfectArbor™ holding system to allow quick changes of the dressing wheel and grinding wheel packs. The ready-to-use dressing wheels can be stored in the built-in storage cabinet.

A touch-screen CNC control panel provides easy operation. To increase the flexibility of this machine, the grinding wheel spindle can be adapted to fit other commonly known wheel arbor systems, and the ProfileSmart can be operated directly on the CNC controller, without VirtualGrind®Pro.
