EPFL Master Internship Mechanical Engineering (M/W) 100%

The cutting tools necessary for manufacturing smartphones, tablets, aircraft, cars and medical devices are high-tech products made on high-precision machines with high-performance software. Rollomatic designs, manufactures, markets, and maintains these production systems worldwide with nearly 400 employees.

THEME OF THE WORK:

“Design and Integration of automated systems for SmartFactory Solutions”

YOUR PROFIE:

  • Currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and seeking a full-time internship
  • Enthusiasm for machine-tools, mechanical design and sensors/actuators integration
  • Hands-on experience in 3D/2D design and proficiency with numerical tools (FEM, MATLAB) for physical system modeling & signal analysis
  • Motivated to contribute to engineering applications in the heart of the Swiss high-precision industry

YOUR MISSION:

  • Improve and adapt the performance of a positioning / monitoring system 
  • Explore new designs, sensors/actuators and search for optimal solutions 
  • Review of both literature and real grinding tests at Rollomatic
  • Collaborate with different teams within the company

YOUR TAKE:

WORKPLACE:

  • Your workplace will be shared between EPFL Innovation Park and Rollomatic Headquarter (Le Landeron)
  • Partial remote work is possible, depending on project topic and phases
